Our client is a leading edge, B2C platform with an established market position and exciting growth strategy. With supportive backing and involvement of a notable entrepreneur and investors they are well positioned for further scaling and continued international expansion. As part of those plans, they are looking to bring in a talented Head of Finance to join the Leadership Team. The role reports to and partners an experienced CFO who is planning to work on a more operational and strategic level thus making this a highly visible and autonomous role. Through the scaling journey the Head of Finance will gain exposure to fundraising, commercial decision making and leading, managing and developing the finance function. The role is remote, with plans in place for the team to meet once per week in London if desired or your location allows. The role would suit an agile, business first accountant who seeks real profile across a scaling, global business and is focused on being part of a true value creation agenda.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing the finance function (currently 2 reports), enabling growth whilst managing risk and remaining compliant.
  • Working as part of the leadership team to support culture and promote values
  • Understanding of how finance fits with the other areas of the business and partnering across the business to provide insight and guidance on initiatives. This role will work closely with performance marketing, supply, logistics, data and product
  • Prepare reports for Executives, shareholders and other stakeholders including Board reporting
  • Lead on management and financial reporting, including statutory reporting and filings for the group
  • Manage budgeting and reforecasting processes (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash).
  • Cash management including reforecasting and scenario planning
  • Full oversight of FP&A, including performance analysis and support with financial modelling of opportunities and providing insight to support the setting of strategic goals
  • Overseeing KPIs and measures that support decision making and analysis – use of Tableau
  • Full oversight of FP&A, including financial modelling of new markets and opportunities
  • Support with Fundraising including preparing fundraising materials and information for data rooms
  • Responsibility for ensuring the business has the appropriate financial controls
  • Support the business with cost management and risk management
  • Ensuring taxes are reported in a timely and compliant manner
  • Automation and simplification mindset with a focus on the introduction of efficient processes and new systems if beneficial

The candidate:

  • Qualified accountant with excellent academics, ideally with practice/audit experience
  • Previous experience at a senior finance level and working with product/data teams
  • Strong excel skills, comfortable handling data and building own models/analysis
  • Experience consolidating group entities and international operations
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, supportive environment
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Team player who is a strong communicator with non-Finance professionals and can ensure the Finance function works closely with other functions
  • Enthusiastic with a proactive personality and 'can do' approach.
  • Experienced and caring team lead who is invested in the development of team members
