FD Direct is a specialist financial recruitment company. For the purposes of the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 (as amended) (“the Conduct Regulations”) FD Direct operates as an employment agency. FD Direct is a data controller for the purpose of EU General Data Protection Regulation and/or the UK General Data Protection Regulation as the case may be as amended or supplemented (The ‘Data Protection Laws’).

Personal Information of Candidates

If you have sent your details to FD Direct as a candidate or prospective candidate we will collect and store the personal information relating to you such as your name, your email address and phone number and the details of your current employment, your employment history, your skills and your curriculum vitae document. FD Direct may also collect and store information about you from telephone calls, emails and interviews with you and with clients. We will collect and store this personal information for the following purposes:

  • To contact you to enable us to register you as a member of our network;
  • To contact you about any vacancies that you may be interested in;
  • To arrange meetings between you and FD Direct personnel or between you and clients and to follow up;
  • To invite you to a conference, dinner, summit or other free career development networking event as a member of our network.
  • To contact you to ask you if you are looking to recruit in your team;
  • To conduct market research or market analysis;
  • To send you information about our services, on an occasional basis or changes to our current services and/or to our Privacy Policy;;

The personal information we hold about our candidates may be shared with:

  • Always with your prior consent, FD Direct’s clients, other potential employers or engagers, other recruitment companies or intermediaries (including Advisers or Private Equity/Venture Capital contacts) involved in managing the supply of personnel to clients;
  • If you are invited to an event FD Direct is hosting/co-hosting or taking part in, the organisers or joint organisers of the event;
  • The trading businesses of FD Direct – EquityFD, EquityFC, EquityInterim and EquityChair;
  • Companies who process personal information on FD Direct’s behalf such as providers of cloud hosting solutions;
  • In the event that FD Direct enters into a joint venture or is subject to a merger with another business entity, FD Direct’s new or potential business partners or owners.

Sensitive Personal Data

Please do not send us sensitive personal data such as religious or philosophical beliefs, data covering race or ethnic origin, trade union membership, health or criminal offences. We do not need or want to collect this information (and different rules may apply to it).

If you are a client or a potential client of, or supplier to FD Direct we will store limited amounts of personal information relating to you including your name, job title, employer organisation and contact details

If you have had contact with FD Direct for example referring a client or potential client to us, or emailing or meeting one of FD Directs’ personnel we may store limited amounts of personal information relating to you such as your name, job title, employer, organisation and contact details.

We will collect and store this personal information for the purposes of:

  • Maintaining a record of contacts;
  • To inform you about candidates who you may be interested in and to arrange meetings/feedback;
  • To invite you to a conference, dinner or summit or other free event FD Direct is hosting, co-hosting or taking part in;
  • To send you information about our services on an occasional basis or changes to our current services and/or to our privacy policy;
  • To send you information about our websites and their features;

If for example you are a candidate who is fully registered as a member of our network and we have thus created a record of your personal information, we may retain this record for 7 years from the date you last contacted us.

Your Rights

You have the right to request from us access to and rectification or erasure of personal information or to restriction of processing concerning you or in some instances to object to our processing of the personal information or to obtain a copy of the personal information.

If you are a candidate you should note that neither FD Direct nor any of its staff will be liable to you for any loss, injury, damage, exposure or delay incurred or suffered by you arising in connection with any introduction to an employment by any employer (including the withdrawal of an offer by any employer).

Changes to FD Direct’s Privacy Policy

Any changes to FD Direct’s privacy policy in the future will be posted to this website and where appropriate, notified to you by email.
