Our client is a leading-edge strategic partner to its blue chip client base of service businesses. Delighting the customer is at the heart of its business proposition and culture. It has a long track record and is Private Equity backed thus with a medium-term goal to a value realisation event.

A new Group CFO is now sought to both partner and challenge the CEO and the rest of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This is a key position, instrumental to future strategy, growth and exit event planning. The business is of a size which requires a CFO who is comfortable with a full ownership role across the operations as a whole, seeking out and acting upon opportunities to unlock and maximise value wherever they may arise.

The role is broad and deep in its remit, having real business impact, but specific responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements are issued accurately and on time. Raise any issues or trends included in the financial statements and work with others on the SLT to take corrective action as necessary
  • Develop, publish and monitor critical KPIs that allows the SLT to quickly spot trends, and, in conjunction with the SLT, take action as necessary
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
  • Lead the company’s banking relationships and direct the preparation of related reporting requirements and covenant calculations
  • Liaise with PE investor as needed on financial matters
  • Prepare the financial section of quarterly Board presentations and actively participate at Board meetings, including preparation of minutes and any governance matters
  • Effectively manage working capital
  • Lead the Company’s procurement function and ensure that it is strategic as opposed to tactical
  • Lead relationships with outside auditors and effectively manage the audit process
  • Lead preparation of the financial section of an IM on exit and participate in presentations to potential buyers
  • Ensure that all tax filings are made timely and accurately


Ideal Candidate Profile & Competencies

  • Management and Leadership
  • Previous relevant experience as a CFO
  • Previous experience with PE-backed firms
  • Previous experience with complex credit agreements and effectively dealing with bank syndicates
  • “Hands on” approach, willing to engage directly with the SLT and other members of the organization regardless of position to fulfil the mission of the position.
  • Outgoing personality, collaborative, confident self-starter
  • Intimate knowledge of UK GAAP
