Director of Finance

Our client is a long established, substantial, family-owned business with an outstanding reputation as a leading provider of some of the most sought after and rare classic cars for private collections and racing. Based at an impressive showroom client suite and workshop premises , they provide for every need undertaking servicing, specialised restoration, parts and storage. The business is always growing and developing and as part of their continuing evolution they are looking for a Finance Director with a key focus on automation of the finance function to provide analytics, streamlined process and support agile decision making. Suitable candidates will be excited by the opportunity to work at the centre of a business and will have strong technical capability as well as a track record of managing a finance function and business partnering a Board.

Responsibilities:

  • Statutory reporting, Consolidations and Corporate Tax comps.
  • Manage annual audit exercise, assess control weaknesses and implement recommended actions.
  • Preparation of Annual budgets (per company and consolidated)
  • Cash flow forecasting, short and long term.
  • Liaison with banks, ensuring covenant compliance
  • Quarterly Management reporting and monthly Preparation of Management Accounts for each group company
  • Full review of current systems – looking to upgrade systems and implement fully automated systems
  • Management and development of the finance function, motivating and engaging the team
  • Ensuring cost control and reviewing supply chain to maximise profitability
  • Monthly KPI reports including Dashboard
  • Performance and Trend analysis and reviews with Senior management
  • Attend monthly Board Meeting. compile Board Agenda and action points – writing up board minutes. Present financial results
  • Manage relationships with Auditors, IT Support provider, Insurance and external stakeholders
  • Provide support to HR for internal management

Candidate requirement:

  • You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or CIMA)
  • Experienced, ideally gained in a growing /medium sized organisation
  • Ideally experience of Sage and/or systems implementations, also strong Excel skills
  • Collaborative approach and ability to manage and motivate staff
  • Strong communication skills and experienced at presenting at Board meetings
  • Strong technical statutory reporting and consolidation skills
  • Able to support growth and provide commercial insight to senior leadership
