Group Financial Controller

Salary: To £110k + bonus + equity

Location: Jersey (Relocation package available OR remote UK wide with 50% travel to Jersey)

Our client is a high growth marketing and product development company, with a mission to help people make smart choices online by providing transparent and accessible content and channeling traffic to match consumers and clients. Entrepreneur led and with an exciting organic and acquisitive growth strategy they are looking to add to their senior leadership team. They have a newly created opportunity for a Group Financial Controller to build a ‘first in class’ finance team and facilitate the growth within the group.

Responsibilities:

  • The remit is to build and hire the finance team to support future growth, coaching and developing the team to meet the business requirements.
  • Support our M&A team on financial DD and post-acquisition onboarding of new companies.
  • You will drive continuous improvement of our finance systems, data, processes, policies and controls.
  • Working hand in hand with the FP&A/Commercial Finance Team to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of monthly consolidated management accounts.
  • Development and monitoring of financial control framework across the Group
  • Working with our tax advisors to ensure compliant group and local reporting and efficient corporate structuring.
  • Responsible for all financial statutory reporting in all reporting jurisdictions. Introducing and implementing IFRS. Manage the entire group audit process, from selection of auditors, through to preparation and execution.
  • Take ownership of the groups banking, treasury and FX requirements.

Requirements:

  • You will be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with several years post qualification experience
  • Practice-based training and have held at least one role in industry ideally at a Controller level managing international group accounting teams.
  • The ability to perform in a high growth and dynamic environment, ideally with experience in technology scale-up.
  • You'll need strong technical accounting knowledge and be a confident communicator who is able to clearly and simply convey complex accounting treatments to senior non-financial stakeholders.
  • Consolidation experience including treatment of FX.
