Director of Financial Control

Salary: To £95k + equity incentives + bonus

Our client is an exciting, award-winning high growth travel company, and is a market leader in its field. This is a key leadership role overseeing the Finance systems and processes to deliver robust reporting and controls. Managing a large team, you will be the number two to the CFO and have wide exposure across the organisation. You will work in a fast paced and entrepreneurial organisation, joining a talented, ambitious and collaborative management team as they continue to make huge waves in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring that risks are adequately mitigated with appropriate controls and processes are constantly challenged
  • Take ownership of financial processing (i.e., accounts payable, credit control) to deliver best in class service levels and efficient transaction processing
  • Monitor and manage the Covenant Group's financial position and associated debt levels against covenants. Ensure the Group has clear cash flow targets and delivers cash initiatives that optimise the working capital cycle
  • Manage the FX hedging levels ensuring that FX hedging is appropriate and accounted for correctly
  • Ensure up to date and robust balance sheet reconciliations, with risks and opportunities appropriately reported and managed
  • Manage the adoption of a new ERP system
  • Oversee the annual audit process, tax and other regulatory reporting processes
  • Deputise for the Group CFO and collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop and embed clear standards of quality and service


Requirements:

  • Experienced finance professional with a minimum of 3 years' PQE
  • Strong technical knowledge of AP, AR, Finance systems and reporting
  • Strong treasury and FX knowledge including hedging
  • Knowledge of payment gateways, solutions and on-line fraud protections would be an advantage
  • Experience of leading and developing financial teams
  • Great flexibility and resilience with ability to adapt and work effectively in a variety of situations with different individuals or groups
  • Demonstrable ability to build strong, scalable systems and procedures
  • Business partnering & strategic skills - ability to challenge and influence at senior levels
  • Proactive in dealing with issues and ability to work under pressure and ensure deadlines are met
  • Good understanding of the Tour Operator business model, market and reporting is highly advantageous would be preferred
  • Strong modelling and excel skills with ability to process and summarise large amount of data
  • Ideally experience of implementing ERP systems
