Financial Controller

Our client is a private investment company with an exceptional track record of investing in and partnering pioneering tech and growth companies across the globe. As founders and investors, they have deep operational expertise and their approach is to take an active role in their portfolio, which has proved very successful with a number of high profile and high value exits to Blue Chip Tech Groups. They are very selective and currently the group comprises 8, scaling, entrepreneur founded businesses, each at a different stage in their journey.

As a result of and to support their continued growth the new role of Financial Controller has been created to assist the experienced CFO. The role is hands on and integral to providing a robust consolidated view and driving improved reporting processes as well as giving an opportunity to work within the portfolio itself, being part of their value creating and exit driven agendas. The role would suit an aspiring CFO of the future as it provides an exceptional grounding across financial, commercial and investment activities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing analytical support for the leadership team including financial modelling and scenario building
  • Production of consolidated group statutory and management reporting
  • Support the new group structure and change of domicile
  • Budget ownership including group forecast reporting and variance analysis
  • Support with rolling cash flow forecast analysis and covenant reporting
  • Compliance with all tax requirements
  • Overseeing the year end audit Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring risks are adequately mitigated with appropriate controls and policies, which are regularly reviewed
  • Liaise with external accountants and advisors
  • Implement robust treasury management
  • Ad hoc project work and involvement in future transactions and subsequent due diligence.

Skills and Experience:

  • You will be a qualified accountant with strong academics, ideally practice trained and possibly looking for your first move into industry
  • Inquisitive with great attention to detail whilst able to focus on the bigger picture
  • Highly organised, structured with advanced excel skills
  • Strong technical skills and experienced in consolidated international group reporting
  • An interest in technology and SaaS businesses with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
