Group Financial Controller

Our client is a private equity backed consultancy group with an exciting growth trajectory. Their impressive client base is serviced by their London HQ and two further international hubs. At the heart of their success is their highly engaged workforce, which they are now looking to add to with the recruitment of the new Group Financial Controller. This is a high-profile role with many facets including leading the team, reporting and on boarding acquisitions, all focused on building a best-in-class, business first, finance function. Reporting to the CFO, key responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

  • To lead and develop the Finance function
  • Lead on producing Management Accounts, include Balance Sheet, EBITDA, Cash flow and key metrics (and consolidated)
  • To ensure that appropriate financial systems and internal controls are maintained across the UK and US,
  • Ensure that appropriate accounting policies are relevant, in place and compliant with accounting standards
  • To oversee all activities carried out by the financial accounting team
  • Ensure that the deferred revenue, debtors and revenue accruals are accurate and understood by senior management
  • Take responsibility for the production and monitoring of a weekly direct cash flow for the Group
  • Responsible for tax compliance for the Group
  • Lead in the maintaining and development of the General Ledger and Reporting Tools – responsible for training of Finance staff.
  • Understand and improve the integration between the General Ledger and the Project management System (Mavenlink)
  • Liaise with the External Auditors and the delivery of Statutory Accounts
  • Responsible for successful integration of acquisitions


Experience

  • You will be a qualified accountant – with prior experience of leading a Finance team
  • Strong leadership experience, including the ability to coach and energise other team members in the UK and abroad
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident and well organised, with a focus on delivery
  • Strong systems and process skills, ideally with prior experience of leading significant system/process changes
  • Strong Excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software and reporting tools
  • Previous experience in a PE/VC backed business an advantage – or a strong understanding of cash flow and working capital
