Group Financial Controller

Our client is a leading-edge global group, early stage and focused on the digital infrastructure/services market. Founded by a highly experienced serial entrepreneur and with substantial investor funding in place they have a rapid international scaling, value realisation agenda. A new CFO has joined and now seeks to add to the team with the addition of a Group Financial Controller. This role requires an agile, high calibre and technically excellent individual. It is a key support to the business and instrumental to the development and maintenance of a group wide finance function and the necessary robust systems and controls. It will also give varied exposure including to debt raises and corporate finance projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day support to the CFO and in completing ad hoc projects (such as future debt raising and other corporate finance projects)
  • Day to day responsibility for the Central Finance team – to encompass reporting for the UK and overseas subsidiaries
  • Delivery of consolidated monthly management accounts and board reporting pack
  • Regular review of the format and content of management accounts and to recommend changes to provide improved business insight and provide adequate level of financial control
  • Development of group-wide finance function to ensure it controls and supports business growth and provides an appropriate level of financial control
  • Monitoring local audit and tax compliance, and liaison with local advisors, to ensure all reporting achieved to statutory deadlines
  • Day to day group treasury management
  • Management of the annual budget process
  • Development of the FP&A function, including cash and trading forecasts
  • Day to day management of UK audit and tax compliance, supported by advisors
  • Maintaining the group accounting system and to ensure the accounting software installed is developed in line with business growth and reporting requirements
  • To provide financial support and act as business partner to senior leaders internationally
  • To manage the invoicing and billing process and consequently the accounts receivable process
  • To act as day-to-day contact for the principal Group banking relationship


Requirements:

  • Ideally ACA qualified
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and understanding of financial control
  • Excellent financial modelling skills
  • Problem-solver, self-starter, proactive
  • Ability to communicate well with senior management and business heads
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Team player
