Group Financial Controller

Our private equity backed client is a pioneer in the harnessing of innovative technologies and is on an exciting international growth journey, scaling both organically and by acquisition . This global group enjoys an enviable reputation for innovation, is well funded and committed to continual investment in new product development and enjoys a strong EBITDA. They are looking to recruit a Group Financial Controller, reporting to an experienced CFO. The role will suit an ambitious finance professional looking to progress to CFO and work with a talent leadership team.

Salary: To c. £100k + Bonus + exceptional benefits

Responsibilities:

  • All group consolidated reporting (monthly management accounts, monthly bank reporting and annual financial statements), KPIs and monthly bank reporting
  • Support acquisitions and integrations
  • Developing and managing financial models and policies
  • Preparation of financial Board packs and presentations
  • With the Group CFO, lead and manage the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes across the Group for the P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and all key KPI’s
  • Roll out new financial consolidation system to all reporting units
  • Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring that risks are adequately mitigated with appropriate controls and processes are constantly challenged
  • Weekly/monthly cash forecasting and Treasury management
  • Lead the annual external audit process for the Group
  • Other ad hoc duties as required and as the business develops further

Person specification:

  • Qualified ACA accountant, ideally big 4 trained
  • Strong technical experience of M&A and taxation
  • Experience of monthly group consolidations, including overseas trading entities with foreign currency exposure
  • Experience of reporting to Private Equity would be an advantage
  • A critical thinker, able to understand the underlying drivers of business performance and influence management through the presentation of financial data
  • Ability to communicate with people at every level, including presenting at board level
  • Experience of working in a multi-site or international business would be desirable
  • Strong IT and systems skills, in particular MS Excel, with experience of development and implementation of new business wide software systems
  • Self-motivated, organised and capable of developing in the current role over time with the ambition and drive to develop.
