Our client is a privately owned innovative and disruptive tech start-up in the insurance sector. The business is poised for rapid and dramatic expansion and the Founder CEO is consequently looking to hire a Finance Director to partner him and the SLT on what looks to be an exciting and ambitious growth journey. Traditionally this sector is not known for either customer service or pro-active and speedy claims management. However this business is different. The ethos is all about customer service and quality and transparent products for consumers. The FD will be the right arm of the CEO and will guide the financial systems that empower the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the finance function to include ensuring that robust systems, processes and controls are established to support the predicted revenue growth
  • Manage relationships with lenders, Investors and other Third parties and Stakeholders
  • Lead fundraising
  • Oversee Compliance and Corporate Governance
  • Be able to add commercial advice to all Contract negotiations such as with distribution partners
  • Create meaningful management information to assist in all commercial decision making

The ideal candidate will be a pro-active, go-get finance professional who is excited by the prospect of a fast paced high growth opportunity. Previous experience of XERO would be helpful but is not a selection criteria. Similarly previous experience of the insurance industry is not necessary. Far more important is experience of working in a scale-up situation ideally in a tech led organisation. Furthermore it is essential that the successful candidate has excellent and proven excel modelling skills which are clearly demonstrable. In addition, fundraising and M&A experience would be very helpful.

This is a fantastic Board level opportunity to join an ambitious, fast paced business at the start of what is expected to be an impressive growth journey culminating in a successful exit for stakeholders.
