Group Financial Controller

Salary: c.£100k (dependent upon experience) + equity potential and annual bonus

Our client is a rapidly growing international service provider, with excellent profits. The CFO is now looking to add to their team with the hire of an exceptional Group Financial Controller and true “No.2” who will support this growth, enhance processes, systems, reporting and oversee regional finance. This will be a hands-on role and require a highly organised, technically astute controller to take on a full end to end role. The role will be hybrid based with some overseas travel.

Responsibilities include:

  • All group consolidated reporting (monthly management accounts, monthly bank reporting and annual financial statements) and KPIs
  • Lead, manage, coach and develop the finance function
  • Cost control
  • Providing commercial support and analysis to department heads
  • Preparation of financial Board packs and presentations
  • Supporting the CFO in delivering the annual budgeting and reforecasting processes across the Group for the P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and all key KPIs
  • Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring that risks are adequately mitigated with appropriate controls and processes are constantly challenged
  • Lead the annual external audit process for the Group as well as tax compliance
  • Supporting the CFO in the execution of acquisitions, debt financing, and managing post deal integration
  • Other ad hoc duties as required and as the business develops further including commercial modelling, contract review and ad hoc project work

Experience/qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (most likely ACCA or ACA), strong academics and most likely educated to degree level
  • Experience of group consolidations essential, including international subsidiaries (desirable)
  • Strong team management skills and ability to collaborate with senior leadership, be led by an experienced CFO and willingness to develop/grow with the role
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and deadline oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT and systems skills
