Our client is a leading HealthTech supplier and trusted partner to Blue Chip retailers and international organisations. It develops feature rich, reliable, user-friendly products and has strong international outsourced manufacturing, quality and logistics capabilities.

Since Management acquired the business there has been heavy investment in expanding the product range, creating brand awareness and forging commercial partnerships . In addition, new and exciting product innovation has seen the development of a SaaS offering which will also play a role in what is now a scaling business. Due to this growing scale and complexity the board has recognised the need to create the new integral role of “Head of Finance”. Based at the heart of the operation in the UK Head Office this is a great opportunity for a finance professional to develop the finance function and to contribute to strategic direction. In addition to providing the board with regular and accurate financial reporting, insights into performance and budgeting the role has responsibility for project managing the implementation of a new business system. The role would suit an ambitious candidate looking to gain hands-on experience in an SME and join a successful and experienced management team.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Financial assessment & input on various projects and business opportunities as they arise, including new business investment analysis and pricing support
  • Developing KPI reporting and dashboards, by revenue stream
  • Input into the group strategic planning process.
  • Timely preparation of accurate monthly management accounts for all group companies and consolidated group accounts, including the remote management of the external accountant in the Hong Kong office.
  • Preparation of an annual financial budget.
  • Periodic cash flow forecasting.
  • Regular reforecasting with analysis and insight into reasons for variance from budget/plan.
  • Management of the annual audit process, including preparation of all working papers for the year-end statutory accounts and tax computations.
  • Oversight of the group’s IT systems.
  • Support accounting and business reporting for the new Technology SaaS product, with appropriate metrics and KPIs, playing an important part in understanding performance.

Candidate profile:

  • Qualified accountant
  • Confidence to work at a senior level and provide effective financial leadership and management
  • Competence in all key areas of finance and accounting processes, and the ability to establish a dynamic finance function
  • Demonstrable ability and skill in engaging and working collaboratively at all levels
  • Ability to build financial awareness and understanding with budget holders
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Good presentational and communication skills
  • Experience gained in distribution and wholesale, or SaaS technology products would be an asset.
  • Professional integrity, independence of thought, and the conviction to deliver quality.
