Commercial Head of Finance (prospective FD)

Salary: c £80k + 30% bonus OTE and LTIP

Our client is well established in the London Food to Go market and has ambitious plans to scale rapidly and diversify its offering. Its aim is to be the leading modern brand in its exciting space by developing a multi- channel operating model both in the UK and internationally. Well-funded, as part of a larger PE backed Group, the success of this strategic vision includes developing channels to market and franchise development. They are seeking a new Head of Finance to support the growth. The role has day to day close working relationship with the Brand MD whilst reporting into the CFO of the Group - you will be a truly commercial business partner, fully embedded in the brand, and capable of financial, commercial and strategic influence. The role plays a vital role in the value creation agenda as well as responsibility for the day to day running of the finance function and team. This is an exceptional opportunity and is expected to progress to Finance Director as the business scales.

The role:

  • To partner the Board, operations teams and business driving informed decision making
  • Short- and long-term financial planning and analysis
  • Profit protection and earnings planning
  • Investment decision and appraisal
  • Financial systems development to support the changing needs of the business
  • Play a leading role at Board meetings and Group Finance meetings
  • Financial reporting including weekly and monthly summary information and more detailed operational and restaurant level information
  • Accountable for budgets, forecasts and projections including rolling summaries of financial risks and opportunities
  • Accountable for business plans and long-term financial planning
  • Investment decision proposal and support, particularly in respect of new sites and site refurbishment
  • Lead the agenda, support and analysis of the commercial teams – including development, pricing, promotional and trading decisions
  • Supporting the Operations team with Labour forecasting deployment and efficiencies
  • Development of financial systems, tools and processes for Management accounts to function at an optimal level
  • Manage, develop and coach the finance team (direct and Group Finance function support)

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA & CIMA) with strong accounting and leadership skills
  • Ideally individual who has gained commercial and/or FP&A skills.
