Our high growth, PE backed ,client works in partnership with its global customer base to transform their operations by deploying a best in class mix of consulting, technical expertise and project management. Together, with world leading software, they also deliver complete ERP system solutions. As part of their growth plan, they are also looking to make strategic European acquisitions. There is now an exciting opportunity for a new Financial Controller to join the business, to play a key role in the next phase of value creation, supporting the CFO and taking oversight of financial operations and reporting.

This is a very visible role in the organisation and enjoys a wide-ranging remit including an overarching goal to ensure that best in class finance support and business partnering is in place. It will suit a hands-on, finance professional looking to gain PE exposure in a fast-paced growth company. The business is commutable to Edinburgh and hybrid working is also on offer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual financial accounts and monthly financial management reports for the monthly board pack.
  • Prepare and track departmental budgets, including updating the 12-month rolling forecast in the Company’s financial model
  • Identify and develop suitable KPIs to measure performance to include product and service line profitability, staff utlisiation rates, project costing and control.
  • Undertake a review of operational procedures and business critical issues to identify effective measurement tools and relevant sales dashboard targets that drive revenue growth and increase profitability
  • There is a need to implement a new finance system and improve control and reporting.
  • Manage the Company’s auditors and accountants
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely manner
  • Control financial transactions (purchase of capital items, payroll, credit cards, etc.)
  • Ensure tax compliance and tax optimisation
  • Work with the CFO to support strategic initiatives, price reviews and address investor requests
  • Support acquisitions and subsequent integration

Key Requirements:

  • You will be a qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organiser and strong problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on with a “can do” attitude
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to drive efficient processes through using ERP
  • Ideally, experience in a service/project delivery organisation and project accounting
  • Experience of the NetSuite ERP system is desirable
  • Trustworthy and discreet
