Our client is a founder led, rapidly scaling multi-site organisation. This unique and contemporary organisation is Integral to the development of welcoming infrastructures within varied communities that truly provide a positive social impact.

Due to growth and future scale, they are seeking an ambitious Head of Finance/Controller to join the senior leadership team. Supported and mentored by an entrepreneurial founder you will oversee and develop the finance function, in a newly created role. The aim being to build a first in class finance function that supports existing and future ventures. This would suit an accountant seeking a varied role spanning all areas of finance within a growth multi-site organisation.

The role reports to the CEO and will:

  • Prepare reports for Executives, shareholders and other stakeholders
  • Lead on management and financial reporting., including statutory reporting and filings
  • Manage budgeting process (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash)
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, with budget analysis and site comparatives
  • Implement commercial KPIs and measure that support decision making and analysis
  • Improve and streamline existing financial controls and processes, using technology to automate, ensuring IT systems are relevant and fit for purpose/scale.
  • Full oversight of FP&A, including financial modelling of investments, new business opportunities
  • Build robust cash flow forecasts and support future fund raises
  • Market analysis and scenario planning
  • Take an active role in managing costs, risk and developing strategic goals
  • Business partner to the Founder and functional heads
  • Management of the management accountant, building the finance function as required

Requirement:

  • Qualified accountant with excellent academics
  • Business understanding to link finance control requirements with operational needs
  • Strong IT skills, ideally having worked with Xero
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, organised and attentive to detail
  • Flexible and willing to travel occasionally to varied locations based in London (and Reading)
  • Enthusiastic with a proactive personality and 'can do' approach
