Group Financial Controller

Our client is an AIM listed Group which leads the market in the delivery of smart energy solutions and provides wider infrastructure services leveraging their strong, high quality trading relationships. They have a well-defined growth strategy (strong balance sheet, cash, exceptional order book) and as part of this strategy they are seeking to add a best-in-class Group Financial Controller to support a dynamic CFO and commercial FDs within the businesses. As an integral part of the leadership team, the role will have responsibility for Group financial and management reporting and FP&A and would suit an ambitious finance professional looking to progress within a growth organisation operating at the cutting edge of the Decarbonisation space.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of consolidated month end reporting packs with supporting analysis
  • Preparation of month end management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cashflows for the group.
  • Preparation of Group budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Preparation of reporting information and KPIs for Group executive team
  • Co-ordinate and lead the annual year end audit process and prep of statutory accounts and half year accounts for the group.
  • Lead on Tax compliance for the group
  • Cash and Treasury management
  • Management of the payroll function
  • Take a lead role in operational and compliance projects

Candidate experience:

  • You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with up-to-date knowledge of all IFRS requirements
  • Sound all round knowledge of Tax
  • Track record of improvements to control and process, proactive and able to generate new initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and deadline orientated.
  • Ability to lead an accounting function, including developing and motivating teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to communicate at all levels within an organisation
  • Experience of group consolidations and managing a payroll function
