Salary: £100k - £130k (€100k - 130k) plus bon/bens

Our client is an exciting and innovative technology services company operating as a business-critical partner to its global customer base. With PE backing and on an explosive organic and acquisitive growth journey, they are now looking to hire a new Group Financial Controller to work closely with the high calibre and experienced CFO. The opportunity will suit a tenacious and hands on individual looking to be part of a value creation and exit agenda. The role oversees all accounting & reporting related functions/systems with the primary focus of the role being to ensure complete, accurate and timely closing of the monthly accounts, MI Packs & Board Packs, monthly re-forecasting & financial modelling, successful completion of external audits and leadership of the Group Controllership Function. The role is hybrid and could be based out of the London (City or North London) or Dublin offices or from one of their other offices in the UK and Ireland- thus in reality offering a flexible UK or Ireland location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership across the reporting team ensuring that all members are motivated and continually developed to work to the best of their potential
  • Establish strong performance review practices for all team members that ensure that all team members have a clear development path
  • Establishing and driving a strong financial reporting and control ethos across the group ensuring processes support the ongoing analysis of business performance and changes in the market
  • Preparation of monthly board packs (consolidated monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, Ratio Analysis, Covenant Reporting, and detailed notes)
  • Preparation of Financial statements with supporting schedules
  • Assist with the capital expenditure budget for the Group and for submission to senior management
  • Create and manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report to senior management.
  • Presentation of results to senior management
  • Audit management - managing year-end audits and approval and submission of all statuary returns
  • Internal Audit management - managing ongoing internal audit review processes. Control environment - implementation of key financial controls and regular monitoring
  • Integration of acquired companies into the current group structure and accounting for the technical aspects of the purchase agreements
  • Implement effective financial controls and reporting processes to support the business
  • Together with the management team define and measure KPIs
  • Ensure high-quality data and analysis, to devise and implement both annual budget and long-term strategy and financial plans.
  • Involvement with future transactions


Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified chartered accountant with strong experience leading all reporting & statutory aspects of the finance function of an internationally focused, high-growth technology business
  • Experience working alongside commercial, product, and operations functional leaders to support them in day- to-day commercial & operating decisions
  • Proven track record of successful management of financial planning and performance management activities in a high-growth commercial organisation.
  • Experience managing a business operating at scale, including (preferably) experience of acquisitions on both the buy and sell side
