The Group Financial Controller will act as the most senior full-time finance person within the business.

The Group Financial Controller will act as the most senior full-time finance person within the business. They will have complete responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function, including all controls, reporting processes and systems. The Group Financial Controller will also be wholly responsible for the management of the finance team, both within the UK and the back office team (based internationally).

Key duties / tasks

Financial control - Maintain the financial integrity of the accounts and deliver robust controls and reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts and between the systems

Financial management - Analyse and interpret financial information to assist the CFO in running the business. Also provide detailed monthly management accounts and related management information required by the senior management team

Financial reporting - Compile statutory accounts including consolidated accounts for the group. Thereafter, liaise and deal with company auditors on all financial statutory matters as required and provide financial and accounting information as required by external agencies

Financial planning – Assist the CFO in the preparation / coordination of the annual budget process and preparation of KPI reporting across the business; proactively identifying KPIs that are useful for improving business processes and driving growth

Business partnering – Work closely with other departments across the organisation to provide financial support and advice to operational projects

IT / financial systems – Take full responsibility for the constant management and review of financial systems

Knowledge, skills and experience

Applicants will be a fully qualified accountant (ideally ACA from a top ten firm) with recent demonstrable experience of operating as a Financial Controller in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Ideally applicants will have knowledge of working within a technology and / or SaaS based business and will also have worked within a business which has Private Equity investors. It is expected that the new Group Financial Controller will be able to call on first class technical finance skills in order to develop a robust internal structure capable of keeping pace with a business which is growing at a significant rate. The Group Financial Controller will also be commercial astute with the ability to add value to strategic decision-making.
