Our client is a high growth SME that is entering an exciting phase of expansion. The business has been established for 11 years and has led cutting edge developments within its field to utilise new technology. They require a versatile Group Financial Controller who can manage the finance function and support a strategic Group Finance Director drive growth, introduce new service lines, manage risk and improve control.  The role entails significant board level interface and business partnering with operational management.

  • Managing and developing finance function
  • Ability to develop the management accounts and KPIs as the business develops
  • Preparation of Statutory Reports and liaison with external auditors
  • Overseeing and driving timely completion of the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Design and implementation of a new accounting system to integrate additional product lines
  • Ability to challenge and replace established processes and procedures where necessary.
  • Management of the annual audit process for financial reporting.
  • Preparation of the monthly Board Pack for discussion with the Board
  • Preparation of cash flow forecasts and management of the relationship with the bank
  • Ensure returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with.
  • Ownership of the annual budgeting process.
  • Continual drive to support and improve margin through effective financial control and commercial acumen.
  • Develop and get best use (reporting, embedded controls and process improvements etc.) out of the Finance system.
  • Carry out any further tasks for which your qualifications & experience are suited as directed by the Finance Director

In terms of the individual:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with previous experience of managing finance teams
  • Experience in improvements of financial control systems and supporting transformation projects
  • Seeking a driven and motivated individual looking to continue in an already proven career.
  • Broad experience of Statutory reporting, preparation of cash-flows, budgeting, forecasting, tax and compliance with the ability to partner key management within the business
