Our client is Private Equity backed, the market leader within its field, and has achieved a rate of growth that is unprecedented.  Their continued expansion in the UK & Europe is exceptional and as a result they have a newly created position requiring an ambitious qualified accountant with an appetite for growth, progression and focus on creating a first in class customer focussed finance team servicing operations outside of the UK.  Turnover is £700m and the pipeline is significant.  The level of growth has resulted from entrepreneurial management and an inspiring senior leadership team whose core principals focus on Independence, Spirit, Belief in People and provision of exceptional care.  A finance transformation project is underway and a new Shared Service Centre (SSC) has been established.  To support internal growth a newly created position has been created, reporting to the Finance Director,

Core aspects of this role include:

  • Delivery of daily process compliance for the banking team, including statement uploads and bank reconciliations
  • Delivery of all cashiering functions to the business, such as payments management and cash balance management across the European territories
  • Management of the Takings team, ensuring all daily sales sheets are uploaded on a timely basis and the sales reconciliations performed
  • Constant improvement on processes which interface the Banking and Takings teams, and onwards to the in-country teams
  • Planning and incorporation of new acquisitions into the Shared Service Centre
  • Delivery of KPIs and related reporting on compliance within the team and at the local country level
  • Resourcing and recruitment for the Takings and Banking teams
  • Motivating and developing the teams, driving towards stability and clear accountability for delivering on targets
  • Coaching and mentoring the teams to improve skillsets and resilience
  • Working with direct reports to promote a united finance department and a culture of efficiency and effectiveness

Candidate profile:

  • Ideally you will be educated to degree level with an accounting qualification
  • Experience of managing a large team and driving performance within an appreciation of working in a Shared Service Centre managing diverse teams
  • Adaptable and flexible, thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.  Key is an entrepreneurial mindset that is focussed on customer service
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver right-first-time results
  • A questioning mind, natural leadership skills that achieve results coupled with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to the head office locations in the European portfolio
