Our client is a privately owned, innovative and market leading technology business. As part of their ongoing expansion they are now seeking a Group Finance Director to work closely with the co-founders to take full ownership of the day-to-day finance function and help guide their growth strategy and reporting.

This is a newly created role. The Finance Director will be extremely visible across the organisation and will be required to have a strong blend of finance and operational experience, gained within an entrepreneurial, fast-paced business.

Main duties will include:

Supporting and partnering the co-founders to deliver the Company strategy and day to day management of the business.

Finance and management reporting function, supporting the co-founders through the preparation of budgets and financial reports and providing advice and guidance on financial strategy and expansion.

Working with the Group Financial Controller to develop and manage systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s finances, including the financial control framework.

Ensure robust cash management, including cash forecasting

Working with various stakeholders across the business to develop / enhance finance systems and processes and to build the finance infrastructure help the business scale.

Management of external audit, insurance and banking relationships.

Lead and deliver the operations strategy, including assessment of KPIs and reporting for the Board.

Ensure that accounting policies comply with relevant accounting standards and that company policies are followed and that the group is compliant with tax law in the various jurisdictions it operates in.

Responsible for Company Secretariat, tax returns and reports for Government regulatory agencies.

Building and managing the finance team, which currently consists of 3 – a Group Financial Controller, an Accounts Assistant and an Operational Finance Manager.


A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with several years post-qualified experience, and prior experience in an FD/Head of Finance role.

An understanding of technology businesses and working within a high transaction entity.

Experience managing finance within a rapid growth, VC backed company, with presence outside the UK.

Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work closely and communicate with both financial and non-financial people.

Experience of managing a small team.
